Ends Justify Means

The episode begins with Dove and Emmy back at Inish Mac Tire, seeking answers but getting sidetracked by troubling visions and revelations. Gilbert faces a tough decision.

Interpol agents arrive at the harbor, seeking Dove and asking a local policeman for help with an extradition order. They want him to arrest Dove.

Dove worries about the Official Secrets Act and its penalties. She shares her findings with Gilbert and Emmy, who head to the Sisters of Mercy convent, hoping to see Sister McDonagh but instead meeting Sister Bernadette. Bernadette spikes Dove's tea with psychedelics.

Dove experiences flashbacks of her past, including visions of her mother overdosing. She and Emmy are locked in the nun's office, where they question Bernadette about Fiona. Bernadette reveals that Fiona is actually Sister Dominica, hiding at the convent to "protect the queen." Fiona is alive, and Dove starts hallucinating.

Meanwhile, Seamus is alive and tells Sean the McCardles are after him. He instructs Sean to sell the eels to the Spanish tonight, but Sean has other plans.

The episode ends with Dove being arrested by Garda Eoin and Charles, while Gilbert and Emmy return to the island for the Samhain festival. Sean meets with Annika to finalize the eel delivery arrangements.

Conclusion

The episode raises many questions, including why the nuns are running a drug operation and why they are spiking people's tea. It also reveals that Fiona died during childbirth and was buried on the convent grounds, and that Sean is actually Fiona and Seamus's child, left with Mrs. O'Shea, a nun who promised to keep Seamus away from the child.
