They locate the car and find Sean with Seamus and some young friends shooting seagulls with airguns. The team hides and watches as Seamus discusses the bodies with Sean, who is surprised by the news.
Inside the warehouse, the team discovers large tanks of water. When Dove checks them out, she falls into one and emerges covered in eels. Their situation worsens when the team is confronted by two people with guns, who identify themselves as Interpol officers from the Wildlife Crimes and Environmental Action Group. They are also the people who ran Dove over in the first episode. They reveal that Bodkin is at the center of an international eel smuggling operation and threaten the team with arrest if they jeopardize the investigation. The officers tell the team to stay away from Seamus and to not discuss the operation in their podcast. Back at the hotel, Dove and Emmy discuss the eel smuggling operation, but Gilbert is hesitant to pursue the story, fearing trouble. That night, Dove has a nightmare about the whistleblower who committed suicide, envisioning him hanging from the ceiling with eels emerging from his mouth. The next morning, Frank kidnaps Gilbert and demands payment within 24 hours. Gilbert is forced to find a way to pay off his debt. Emmy and Dove investigate on their own despite Gilbert’s wishes. They believe they need to prove Seamus killed Malachy and Fiona, the two missing individuals from 25 years ago. Dove shows Emmy a newspaper picture of Malachy with Seamus, and in the same picture is Sergeant Power. suggesting that Sergeant Power might be involved in the case. They then confront him at a restaurant. Dove accuses Power of helping Seamus kill Malachy because Malachy was sleeping with Fiona. However, Power denies there was an affair and instead blames the murders on the gangsters brothers McArdle. When Emmy asks Power how Teddy's disappearance fits into the case, the sergeant angrily denies it, saying Teddy was with Fintan. After he leaves, Dove tells Emmy she doesn’t believe him. Meanwhile, Gilbert tries to call his wife, but she doesn’t answer. He is then approached by Seamus, who tries to cheer him up and offers to pay Gilbert’s debt to Frank if he’s not mentioned in the podcast. Gilbert agrees, and they go to the bank. Back to the girlss, Emmy and Dove sit in Sean’s car, watching the bog where a car was found, guarded by a cop. Emmy distracts the cop while Dove checks the car and finds a knife like one of Teddy's. This makes them wonder about Teddy's connection to the bodies. Gilbert is with Seamus in a car, who then stop to meet someone. Gilbert sees Seamus meets Sean and some Interpol agents at a boat, who offer him money and Seamus agrees. Seamus comes back to the car without explaining anything to Gilbert. Emmy talks to Fintan about giving the knife to Teddy. Later, Dove suggests recording Fintan and Teddy. Fintan says sorry to Teddy and shows him the knife. Emmy hears them and thinks the car in the bog belongs to Sergeant Power. Dove and Emmy argue over recording. Fintan realizes he’s being recorded and leaves. Seamus leaves Gilbert in the car and gives him money to pay his debt later. Seamus gives money to Frank, who jokes it’s not enough. Seamus gets angry and staples money to Frank’s body. Gilbert sees tension between Emmy and Dove. Dove visits Mary. Gilbert and Seamus go to the morgue, where Seamus says the dead were tortured and killed by the McArdles. Dove hears she has to go back home. Seamus sees the body at the morgue isn’t Fiona's.
