In-ha acquires the background of Uwan, who used to be an intelligence agent for North Korea. At that moment, Uwan's Italian assistant approaches from behind and points a gun at his head, having worked for In-ha for money. Shortly after, the media reports that Tae-oh has escaped from prison. Hye-won also receives the news and is extremely worried.
Meanwhile, Gi-jun secretly meets with the prison guard assigned to kill Tae-oh, apologizing for not being able to carry out the plan because Tae-oh has disappeared before he could act. However, Gi-jun still throws money at him anyway.
Hyewon goes to Uwan's café, but it is closed. In the basement, Uwan is being guarded by the Italian worker.
Later, Uwan manages to seize the gun from the Italian assistant and demands half of the money that In-ha has paid him, and from that moment, Uwan also decides to switch sides to In-ha’s for the money.
Hee-ju anxiously calls the head of legal at Kang-oh and asks him to find Tae-oh.
Seong-ju and his mother discuss the disappearance of Tae-oh.
It seems that Gum-seok is trying to take over Kang-oh.
Hye-won receives a call from her mother asking for money, and she gives it to her. However, Hye-won suggests she find a professional to help her find someone, and she will pay her double. But her mother is cunning and tells In-ha to demand more money.
Meanwhile, Tae-oh wakes up in a strange room. In a dream, he sees that the real killer of In-ju is In-ha. At that moment, Chairman Joong-mo enters; it turns out he is the one who helped him escape from prison. The chairman also informs him about the assassination plan in prison, so he helps him escape before it happens. He also knows that In-ha and his people have been at the crime scene when In-ju was killed.
The next day, Hye-won goes to meet her mother at the rendezvous point, but it is a trap. It turns out she has brought Mo Gi-jun, who quickly uses a sedative to knock her out and kidnap her. Later, In-ha orders Gi-jun to lock Hye-won up in a psychiatric hospital. In-ha is furious when he sees that Hye-won still believes that Tae-oh is not the murderer and has escaped from prison. He swears to find Inha and take revenge.
It turns out that In-ha had collaborated with Park Sa-jin, the chairman's rival, to split the Kang-oh group in two and then eliminate Park Sa-jin. Tae-oh had created this plan and revealed it to Joong-mo, who was aware of the relationship between Tae-oh and In-ha.
The chairman offers Tae-oh his position at Kang-oh group if he can stop In-ha. Tae-oh also suspects that it might have been In-ha who killed In-ju.
Meanwhile, Tae-oh tries to contact Hye-won but without success. Joong-mo informs him that In-ha has confined her in the psychiatric ward. Meanwhile, after Hye-won is exhausted from being locked up in the psychiatric hospital, In-ha says he will free Hye-won on the condition that she becomes a second Tae-oh for him and lives only for him.
Tae-oh explains the plan to the chairman. He suggests that the chairman should split the Kang-oh group and approach Park Sa-jin first. Since their fathers had built the Kang-oh group together, Park Sa-jin would have attacked Kang-oh to take half of it anyway; it was just a matter of time. Tae-oh assures that Sa-jin is only a pawn in the game and that the core of Kang-oh will remain with the chairman.
He continues telling the chairman to make sure Hye-won is on their side because In-ha wants Hye-won's help to access the slush fund money (Kang-oh Art Foundation, which Hye-won directs) to carry out his plan.
Immediately after, the chairman calls Hye-won and offers her to join his side, which she agrees to under the condition that he will not stop her from doing anything.
In-ha arrives as Tae-oh's doctor is leaving. He is suspicious but the doctor signals to Tae-oh with a fall, and Tae-oh is alerted.
At this time, Joong-mo also steps in to intercept In-ha, acting as if the doctor is for himself.
At this moment, In-ha also figures out that Tae-oh is with the chairman.
Meanwhile, Uwan realizes that Tae-oh is at Joong-mo’s place, and Inha later receives a call from Uwan as a confirmation.
The chairman meets with Park Sa-jin and proposes the split. Initially, Park Sa-jin hesitates because he thinks it will be easier to deal with Inha, since he still bears the Kang surname, but the chairman tells him that In-ha will be ousted from the company, and Sa-jin changes his mind.
Tae-oh finally goes out and meets Hye-won, who uses her position to get Tae-oh into the hotel room where In-ju was killed. Tae-oh inspects the location and starts to recall that night, albeit fuzzily. He remembers about the phone that In-ju’s lover was recording them that night.
Meanwhile, Hee-ju is informed that Tae-oh is with her dad. She goes to the chairman’s office to find Tae-oh but finds her father dead in the bathtub instead.
