Meanwhile, In-ha is with the chairman. The chairman tells In-ha to just do as he says, and he agrees. He also allows In-ha to marry Hye-won. In-ha finally picks up Hye-won’s call and informs the chairman about the accident. In-ha decides to call his assistant to shut down the investigation since it could harm the Kang Oh group. He then arrives at the hospital and finds Hye-won extremely worried. He hugs her and says everything will be fine. At the Kang residence, at breakfast, the Kang brothers discuss the incident, and both of them deny committing the assault. Hee-ju rushes to the hospital after hearing about Tae-oh’s incident when Seong-ju calls his mom to inform her about the incident and that the police didn’t even file a report. In the hospital room, Tae-oh regains consciousness and holds Hye-won’s hand. Hee-ju walks in and gets mad about that; In-ha also arrives and tells Hee-ju to give Hye-won a break. In-ha later informs the chairman about the situation. In-ha asks Hee-ju to respect Hye-won when Hee-ju says that Hye-won doesn’t love In-ha, adding fuel to the fire. At her workplace, the congressman’s aide implies to Hye-won that In-ha is behind the attack since the Kang Oh group tries to hide it from the public. This makes Hye-won suspicious of In-ha. Tae-oh wakes up to find that the incident hasn’t been reported to the police. In-ha explains that it is to safeguard Kang Oh’s interests. After In-ha leaves the room, Tae-oh struggles to leave the hospital room to meet Joong-mo and ask for permission to investigate the attack. The chairman gives him permission as long as Kang Oh isn’t dragged into the mess. When Tae-oh leaves, the chairman calls someone and asks them to find the culprit before Tae-oh does. Meanwhile, In-ha comes back to the incident location and checks out the scene until Hye-won calls him. Tae-oh leaves the chairman's office and struggles to walk straight; he finally manages to hop into a taxi that drops him at the café of the hacker. it’s now revealed that his name is uwan; uwan takes care of tae oh, and Tae-oh asks him to find the culprit. A while later, Seonu’s cafe staff gets Tae-oh back to the hospital room. At In-ha’s flat, Hye-won questions In-ha about not reporting Tae-oh's incident. In-ha shows his true colors and says Tae-oh isn't important enough to risk Kang Oh's reputation. Hye-won is speechless and leaves the house. The next day after work, Hye-won’s mother shows up and stops her car. Hye-won knows what she wants and directly asks how much money she needs this time. She shamelessly asks for a huge amount. Hye-won breaks a wine bottle and threatens to slit her own wrists in the middle of the restaurant. It helps her get away from her troubled mom, but Hye-won still feels the pain of having a horrible mom afterward. It’s revealed that someone paid Hye-won’s mother to put on a show and traumatize her. She returns home to find In-ha waiting, and they reconcile when In-ha comforts Hye-won, but In-ha looks sinister as he’s scheming something. Meanwhile, U-wan finds out that In-ju’s secretary was behind Tae-oh’s attack and forwards this information to Tae-oh. Elsewhere, In-ha brings Hye-won to meet his family. No one really welcomes her since she works for the opposing party; however, Hye-won directly tells them that if Joong-mo offers her a position she wants, she will consider quitting her job. Joong-mo laughs at that and leaves the room after critizing Hye-won’s attitude. In-ha later tells Hye-won to be patient when she deals with Joong-mo. The next day, Tae-oh gets discharged and goes to In-ju’s nightclub, but he only sees In-ju’s secretary and asks him to convey the message to In-ju that Tae-oh is going to get revenge on him. Tae-oh leaves the nightclub and goes to see Hye-won at their usual meeting place. They reminisce about the past. The two finally confess their love to each other. Tae-oh impulsively kisses Hye-won, but she pushes him back only to give in later. At the same time, In-ju’s secretary captures the two and sends the image to In-ju. The next day, Tae-oh goes to work and receives a document from Uwan with In-ju’s suspicious investment details. The scene cuts to Hye-won and In-ha’s wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, Hye-won leaves first when In-ju shows up in the elevator and threatens her with the photograph of her and Tae-oh’s kiss from the other day.
