Tae-oh calls an ambulance for Joong-mo, and the prosecutor’s team has to stop their raid due to his heart attack. Meanwhile, Kang-oh and Hye-won hear the news.

At the chairman’s hospital room, his family members all arrive, but no one truly cares about him. Geum-suk lies and claims that the chairman collapsed after she had left him. Tae-oh asks the family to leave, and Hee-ju is surprised to see him again as the chairman’s secretary. Before leaving, Geum-suk repeats her decision to get Hee-ju married for connections. In-ha visits Tae-oh at the hospital and is worried that their plan might be affected, but Tae-oh assures him everything will work out as planned.

Later, Tae-oh is summoned by Kang In-ju. In-ju offers Tae-oh a chance to work with him, but Tae-oh declines the offer, saying, “The chairman is still alive.” Furious at his response, In-ju orders his secretary to track Tae-oh’s movements.

Tae-oh and Hye-won meet at their usual place. Hye-won implies that she is getting married to In-ha.

Later, Tae-oh visits the chairman’s hospital room and it’s revealed that the chairman is completely fine; the whole heart attack was his act to counter his weak point—Milton. It’s further revealed that Tae-oh sent the anonymous tip to the prosecutor’s office after discussing the plan with the chairman.

Moreover, Tae-oh suggests using In-ha to straighten out the situation at hand. Although reluctant, the chairman agrees. Tae-oh is to draft a contract for In-ha that will include the rules of what he can and cannot do.

Elsewhere, with the chairman’s absence, Chae Dong-Uk is back in Seung-joo’s circle, thinking that Tae-oh is in a mess with the chairman on the hospital bed.

Hye-won informs that she cannot reach In-ha, and Tae-oh finds him at the beach. In-ha is furious since he knew Tae-oh kept a secret from him and fears that Tae-oh will betray him, but Tae-oh reassures him that everything he does is to bring In-ha to the chairman position.

A flashback shows In-ha’s past, revealing that his mother had slit her wrists. Tae-oh repeats that he exists solely for In-ha’s sake.

Hee-ju finds her arranged fiancé, Hee-chan, in a bar with escorts and declares that she won’t be marrying him. Intrigued by her manner, Hee-chan calls his parents and confirms his intentions to date her. Later, Hee-ju stops Tae-oh's car and tries to convince him to marry her, but he immediately rejects her. The following day, Seung-joo is announced as the acting chairman by Geum-suk at the board meeting. At that very moment, a mysterious hacker wreaks havoc at Kang Oh Securities by changing the dividend from ‘1000 won per share’ to ‘1000 shares per person.’ This change leads to Seung-joo being summoned by the prosecutor’s office as excessive selling of shares is illegal. The share price of the holding also plummets.

In a secret meeting with the chairman, In-ha admits he was the one who set Seung-joo up, in return for recognition as the chairman's third son and a member of the Kang-oh group. The chairman doesn't reply but asks him to sign a contract, which In-ha does. Later, the chairman visits Geum-suk in her garden and reveals that everything that had happened was part of his plan. He warns her to be prepared for her punishment before leaving. Later, In-ha is finally invited to the Kang residence, much to Hee-ju's delight, unlike the others.

The next day, the chairman makes an official appearance, posing as a patient who has recently recovered, with In-ha supporting him. The media surround them and the scene becomes chaotic when In-ha calls the chairman "father."
