Professor Chae has now become the president of the development center and meets with the chairman's council. Tae Oh was the person who wrote the speech for Chairman Kang Joong Mo, and in return, Dong Uk introduced him to the chairman council. Joong Mo tells everyone to go ahead to the event and stays in the room with just Tae Oh, giving him compliments but also secretly testing him. He asks why in the speech, Tae Oh portrayed the owner of Kangoh Corporation as someone else, not him.

He also knew that Tae Oh had set conditions with Dong Uk to meet Joong Mo. Joong Mo tells Tae Oh that he is arrogant and that the success of the corporation is because of his system of employees, not just Tae Oh, as Tae Oh dismisses the benefit of 30 billion won as if it's nothing. Joong Mo plays his last card by calling Tae Oh by his real name, Han Gilsu, revealing that he knows about his past, his family, and how Tae Oh sent his stepdad to prison.

At that moment, Tae Oh asks to resign, but Joong Mo reveals he was just testing Tae Oh and declares that he wants Tae Oh to become his assistant. Five years later, Kang Oh has grown even stronger. one day Chairman Joong Mo faints in the swimming pool but is timely rescued. When his family visits him at the hospital, they find him safe and sound as if nothing happened, which seems to dissapoint them. In the elevator, they talk about Tae Oh, who is very favored by Joong Mo and is likely to become the youngest chief secretary soon. Geum Seok tells In Ju to stop badmouthing Tae Oh and instead look at the bigger picture.

Tae Oh talks with Joong Mo and updates him about the tasks he has completed. Joong Mo is now really focused on a project named "Royal Road" that he started a year ago to build a large city on the west coast, essentially aiming to establish a region belonging to Kangoh inside South Korea. Meanwhile, In Ha is working as a regular officer at the Research and Development Centre for minor IT projects of the Kangoh Group. Na Hye is working in a political campaigning team. One day, Seong Joo meets at a shooting school with Jo Sundong, the opponent of the chairman’s approved candidate. All of this is secretly recorded by a hacker who works for Tae Oh. Tae Oh takes the videos to show In Ha and Na Hye. Seong Joo also visits the Blue House more often, and they suspect he is trying to lobby his way to become the next chairman of Kangoh, behind his father's back. At the election, Jo Sundong wins, Joong Mo is furious and his illness recurs until Tae gives him water to take his medicine. Meanwhile, Seong Joo and Geum Seok are having a joyful meal together. Hyewon and Tae-oh meet. Tae-oh asks if Hyewon is going to marry In-ha, but she says "not yet." Things feel a bit awkward between them. Tae-oh stresses that they need to act soon or things will get harder because of Kang Seong-joo. The next day, Hye-won tries to talk with her boss to get information on the location where he will meet with other colleagues after work. She goes to that place, stays in the room next door, and secretly records their discussion to learn more about Seung-joo's scheme. Meanwhile, Kang Hee-joo strongly opposes her mother's plan for her to have an arranged marriage. She storms into Geum-suk's office and firmly states that she won't accept that. Hye-won goes to In-ha's house and shares the plot involving Seung-joo and Jo Sundong, who aim to accuse the chairman of embezzlement.

The next strategy is to split the Co-prosperity Cooperation Centre from the Kang-oh group. As this center is crucial to Kang-oh, Seung-joo would gain control over most of its assets. Tae-oh later discloses that Jo-seungjoo is just a minor player in his broader plan to provoke the chairman.

Tae-oh meets the hacker and learns about the 'Save Africa' refugee relief program run by the Jang Noik Foundation. This organization brought Tae-oh and the hacker together.

Meanwhile, Geum-suk blackmails Joong Mo’s doctor to learn about his severe heart condition.

Tae-oh informs the chairman that the Save Africa project is a front for money laundering. Owned by Geum-suk's family, it's revealed that she orchestrated Jo-seungjoo’s rise to party leader, and Joong Mo can see through Geum-seok and her son’s plan. At a shooting range, Kang Seong-joo and Geum-suk encounter Milton’s president, Chu Hyuk-jin. Seong-joo convinces Hyuk-jin to provide evidence of the chairman’s financial wrongdoing; Hyuk-jin eventually agrees to the deal. The hacker spies on Seong-joo’s phone, sees this, and informs Tae-oh, who alerts the chairman.

That night, In-ha picks Hye-won up from work and brings her to his house, where he asks her to marry him, and she agrees.

Chu Hyuk-jin and his legal team are summoned by the chairman to address potential issues from transferring the centre directly under the chairman's control. All their phones are confiscated, and Hyuk-jin can't communicate with Seong-joo. He feels so nervous that when Tae-oh follows him out to give him back his phone, Hyuk-jin, suspecting it's a trap, denies it.

The next morning, Seung-joo learns about the reassignment and informs Geun-suk that their plan is at risk.

During an emergency board meeting, the chairman announces the removal of Seung-joo from the synergy team and demotes him to President of the struggling Kangoh Securities. Chae Dong-Uk, previously fired, is reinstated after Seung-joo's removal.

Just as things appear stable, the prosecutor's office receives an anonymous tip about the chairman's embezzlement. They quickly raid the Kangoh office.

Geum-seok comes to Joong-mo's office to confront him about Seong-joo’s demotion. When she leaves, he collapses due to a heart attack. Geum-seok runs back and intends to give him the medicine, but then decides to just walk away. Tae-oh shortly arrives and picks up the medicine from the floor.
