Tomorrow is Tomorrow In episode 3 Lord Toranaga hatches a daring plan to escape from Osaka Castle. He enlists the help of Lord Yabushige, promising him more land in return for his assistance.
Although Yabushige agrees to help Toranaga, it's clear that neither Ishido nor Toranaga fully trusts him, hinting at potential betrayal.
Meanwhile, John Blackthorne manages to evade the assassin sent by Ishido and teams up with Mariko to aid Toranaga's escape.
As they try to leave Osaka, they face an ambush by Lord Kiyama's men. In a gritty and realistic battle, Mariko and Blackthorne fight alongside Toranaga's forces to protect him.
Toranaga cleverly uses Blackthorne's sailing expertise to gain an advantage, appointing him as a high-ranking military leader and having him teach his men how to sail.
In a daring move, Toranaga swaps places with his wife Kiri to deceive his enemies. Despite the risks, they manage to leave the castle and escape the attackers.
However, their troubles aren't over yet. Kiyama's men discover Toranaga, leading to a frantic chase. Toranaga strikes a deal with the Portuguese for safe passage, but they demand Blackthorne be left behind.
Undeterred, Blackthorne follows in a galley and rejoins Toranaga's party after breaking through the blockade. At sea, Toranaga appoints Blackthorne as a high-ranking officer and asks him to train his men in Western tactics.
Meanwhile, back in Osaka, Toranaga's resignation leaves the regents without a quorum to vote on his impeachment.
