Episode 5

Vincent is relentless in his quest to find Edgar, braving harsh conditions by sleeping outside and chasing down every lead. His resolve is strong, but he faces many obstacles. Detective Michael Ledroit heads the police search for Edgar, but their efforts are hampered by corruption and incompetence, especially from Captain Cripp, who is more interested in hiding the truth than finding Edgar.

Raya, a friend of Yuusuf, tries to convince him to let her help look for Edgar, but Yuusuf is reluctant. Meanwhile, Cassie waits nervously at a payphone for Yuusuf, who narrowly avoids getting caught by the police. Vincent's puppet character, Eric, keeps disrupting Vincent's concentration with his antics, causing ongoing tension and distraction.

Cassie gets a call from Yuusuf demanding the $25 million reward for Edgar's return and gives her a meeting location. Desperate to meet this demand, Cassie asks Vincent's parents for the money. Ledroit follows a lead from Lennie about Ricardo, who reveals that he swapped basketball jerseys with Marlon on the day Marlon disappeared. Ledroit suspects both boys frequented The Lux and asks the club's owner, Alex Gator, for CCTV footage from that day.

Vincent grows more frustrated with the network's portrayal of Eric during a charity event. Edgar's map guides Vincent to the subway and eventually to a homeless village where Edgar is being held, though neither knows the other is nearby. As city hall orders the police to clear out the homeless village, chaos erupts. Yuusuf's friend, Raya, tries to quickly bring Edgar to the surface. Vincent catches a brief glimpse of Edgar, but Edgar slips while climbing and drags Raya into the rushing water of a culvert below.

This episode highlights the numerous challenges and frustrations in Vincent and the police's search for Edgar, as well as the personal conflicts and emotional struggles that complicate their efforts.
