The police quickly arrive at the scene and take Hye In to the station for questioning to aid the investigation. Hee Soo's assistant also shows up and calls Hee Seo to report on the situation.
The assistant informs that Hae In isn't dead but in a coma and undergoing surgery. The CCTV system has been tampered with and the footage deleted. However, the assistant believes it isn't an accident but an intentional act of violence. Hee Seo mentions that Hae In is a scholarship student from a disadvantaged family, meanwhile the culprit could be one one of the student at the school who likely has a powerful family and they need to protect that person instead. the assistant notes that it might be difficult as there is witness, Hye In herself. Hee Seo panics at this revelation but then has an idea.
Meanwhile, Hye In is in tears during police questioning, terrified as she recalls the gruesome image of Hae In covered in blood on the school grounds.
Hye In continues to be haunted on her way home, she encounters Na Yeon’s mother again, who is waiting for her in front of her house. However, the woman’s attitude is different this time; she doesn't scold Hye In but instead acts concern. Na Yeon states she won't sue Hye In anymore and will contact Hye In's school to ensure she can continue her education. Not only that, she even brings gifts for Hye In and asks her to persuade the chairman to admit Na Yeon to the school. Hye In is confused and still doesn’t understand what's going on. When Hye In enters the house, her father scolds her for not coming home and getting into trouble at school. Unable to bear it any longer, Hye In tells him that she hasn't told anyone about her problems because even if she did, he wouldn't be able to help since he lacks both money and connections. She then ignores him and goes to her room.
Hye In charges her phone, which was out of battery, and sees multiple missed calls from Cheongdam High School. She calls Heo Soo back, and he offers her a full scholarship to attend Cheongdam High School in return for her silence regarding Hae In's case.
At the hospital, Hae In has survived the crisis but remains in a coma. A friend visits her, revealing himself as the one who called the School Violence Prevention Committee when Jenna's group was harassing and forcing students to quit. He then converses with Hye In's mother, who mentions that another friend from Cheongdam had visited, claiming to be Hae In's best friend. However, he can't recall anyone who could genuinely be Hae In's friend at Cheongdam.
Meanwhile, at school, Do-eon stands sadly where Hae In fell from the rooftop. So-mang is guiding another new student around the school and notices Do-eon. So-mang doesn't bother with introductions, feeling they are unnecessary, only briefly mentioning the unspoken hierarchy among students and how those without means would easily be marginalized. He tells her that Jenna is the power queen, unafraid to confront those who flaunt their wealth because she is the daughter of one of the school's administrators. The new student smirks and tells So-mang that she isn't afraid because her father owns a cosmetic surgery clinic. However, So-mang replies that if her father only owns a cosmetic surgery clinic, she would surely be placed at the bottom of the hierarchy.
At school, Hee Seo doesn't care about how students are treated; he only cares if students from influential families feel comfortable. Do-eon finds a list of new students and feels suspicious about Hee Seo admitting a new poor student to the school after Hae In's accident.
In class, the teacher holds a suicide prevention session to raise awareness among students after Hae In's incident. However, Jenna argues with the teacher, implying that what happened to Hae In is her own fault. Finally, Jenna leaves the class without apologizing to the teacher.
At school, Hye In grabs her backpack and leaves, ignoring a classmate who tries to lecture her. Her classmates are shocked to learn that she will be transferring to Cheongdam International High School. Hye In leaves the school with a sense of triumph.
That night, after her part-time job, Hye In tells Sun-joo about being sponsored to attend Cheongdam and how she can't wait to change her life. She also decides to quit her part-time job because she feels it isn't worthy of her new school. Hye In keeps the reason for her scholarship secret and treats Sun-joo to a meal to change the subject. The next morning, a Cheongdam school uniform was delivered to Hye In's house, and she tried it on. Hye In went to buy expensive shoes to prepare for her first day at school, using money she had saved from her part-time job. However, at that moment, a girl wearing a baseball cap was observing Hye In from afar. She bumped into Hye In, spilling Hye In's coffee and dirtying her shoes bag. Hye In went to the restroom to clean her bag and check her shoes, finding a piece of paper secretly tucked inside. The paper accused Hye In of exploiting Hae In's murder to advance herself. Shocked, Hye In rushed outside to find the girl who had planted the paper and left her bag in the restroom.
After searching fruitlessly, Hye In returned to the restroom but couldn't find her bag anymore. In a panic, she saw a girl stepping out of one of the cabins wearing a pair of shoes identical to the ones she had just bought. That girl was none other than Jenna.
Hye In accused Jenna of stealing her shoes, but Jenna found the accusation ridiculous and dismissed Hye In. However, Hye In wasn't scared and chased after Jenna, pulling her hair.
