As soon as she entered the house, she was overwhelmed by the interior. Kang Na-yeon's mother interviews Hye-in for the position of her daughter's tutor and acts arrogant and contemptuous of her. It turns out that Hye-in used the ID card of her friend Sun-joo, a famous university student, to lie and get this job. Na-yeon's mother stated that Na-yeon needed to pass the entrance exam to Cheongdam International High School after finishing middle school. However, she also boasted that it was just a formality because she bribed a lot of money so that her daughter could have a place to study at Cheongdam. Hye-in finishes the interview and rushes back to the convenience store to work part-time. There, Sun-joo was waiting for Hye-in. Even though she got into a famous university, Sun-joo had lost all faith in life and thought that working hard is pointless because she cant never compete with rich kids who has everything ready for them. Because of working and studying too hard, at school, Hye-in had a nosebleed. At that moment, a classmate came to convey the homeroom teacher's words and called her into the teacher's room. It turned out that the school organized an English camp for students in New Zealand. Although Hye In studied well, she did not have enough money to go and had to depend on a slot of scholarship. However, the homeroom teacher announced that another student had a more difficult situation and would receive that scholarship instead of Hye In. Hye-in is depressed because her only lifeline is also lost. When she went outside, Hye In was asked by her classmates about studying to go to New Zealand. She felt embarrassed to admit that she couldn't go without money. Hye In used the excuse that she decided not to go because I found the program quite boring. That night, Hye-in returned home and felt even more depressed when reminded of how poor and miserable her family was. The next day, Hye-in goes to Na-yeon's house to tutor her. Na Yeon is completely uninterested in studying and only focuses on taking photos with her designer clothes and bags. Hye-in was shocked to learn that one designer bag costs 3 million won while the other costs 5 million won and they look almost the same but Na-yeon doesn't feel sorry because to her it's nothing. Hye-in thought that one bag was worth her trip to New Zealand. She tells Na-yeon that spending money on bags and clothes is a waste. Na-yeon decided to tease Hye-in and jokingly said she would give her one of two designer bags. Hye-in was shocked and immediately agreed to accept the gift because she wanted to resell it for a scholarship. However, when Hye-in was about to take it, Na-yeon grabbed it and mocked Hye-in for just a moment ago saying that bags and clothes were wasteful but when they were given it, she accepted it. She makes fun of poor but pretentious people like Hye-in and leaves.
That night, Hye-in meets Sun-joo again at the convenience store. The two discuss how life is unfair and Sun-joo tells Hye-in a story about a girl at school that appears indipendently and earns her own allowance but actually her house, car and most expensive expenses are all paid by her wealthy family. The next day, Hye-in goes to Na-yeon's house for tutoring when the housekeeper tells her that Na-yeon will return late. She tells Hye-in to wait for Na-yeon in her room.
